Both natives of Williamson County, Haley Stillings and Winston Voigt, met on their first day of at Belmont University’s Accelerated Nursing Program in the fall of 2014. They began their courtship in the winter of 2015. On the 15th of December, surrounded by loved ones, they wed at First Presbyterian Church of Nashville. Festivities for the weekend began Friday evening with an elegant rehearsal dinner, hosted by the Voigt family, in the ballroom at Belle Meade Country Club. Holiday decorations adorned the ballroom and tables. On Saturday, at five-thirty that evening, Bach’s Bist du bei mir (Abide with Me), played on the church’s magnificent pipe organ as the bride was escorted down the aisle by her father, Tim Stillings. Pastor Todd Jones and Reverend Mark Price officiated a traditional wedding ceremony in the elegantly decorated sanctuary. During the ceremony, the bride and groom knelt at the altar upon a needlepointed wedding kneeler originally made by the grandmother of the groom for use in the wedding of the groom’s parents. Photos of the newly married couple and their families were held immediately after the ceremony and were captured by Jordyn Smalling Photography. Bridesmaids could be seen wearing their choice of Adriana Papell gown in neutral tones while the flower girl beamed in an antique lace dress handcrafted by Missy Voigt, mother of the groom. The reception was held at The McConnell House in downtown Franklin, with catering by Red Pony Catering. The historic venue is the converted Franklin jail with multiple levels, a bridal suite and exposed brick throughout the building. Approximately 200 guests were treated to a station-style buffet while live music was performed by The Flashbacks Show Band of Huntsville, Alabama. A decadent, three-tiered, buttercream frosted cake was provided by Lizzie Davis of Copper Whisk Cakes and was displayed in the foyer. Guests danced and mingled through the night between toasts and traditional first dances. Krispy Kreme Doughnuts lined the exit as the guests filed outside for the sparkler send off. The couple left early the following morning for their honeymoon in Castries, St. Lucia.
